A recent trailer showed off a more detailed look at the story behind the Dark Souls-esque horror JRPG Code Vein, now a new video has emerged to show off even more of the upcoming title. Not only do those interested get a closer look at an incredible boss fight, but also a peek inside of the surprisingly detailed character customisation this title will offer. The anime-style is wildly apparent in the character customisation demo. Though the male customisation ate up most of the presentation, both female and male characters can be tailored for a unique experience. With more skin colour options than most games offer, a variety of hairstyles, and more – it wouldn’t be difficult to create the revenant of your dreams; whether to your likeness or something greater.
Once the revenant creation wrapped up, game director Hiroshi Yoshimura took the helm to show off a demo of gameplay where he drew interested fans into the world of blood-thirsty vampires and tyrannical politics. Throughout the video, Yoshimura took to in-game dungeons and experienced a few defeats with an incredibly brutal boss fight. He eventually got the hang of it and emerged victorious, but it just goes to show that this game will be a challenge for its players.
Code Vein is a third-person action game that has an incredibly dark narrative centering around a group of people with a thirst for blood called the Revenant. They all reside in a hidden society called Vein. “Blessed” with gifts of power, these Revenants exchanged their memories of who and what they are for strength, even if it means an unquenchable thirst for blood.
With an engaging premise and a unique character creator, Code Vein promises to be a horror-filled RPG that fans won’t be able to get enough of. Code Vein will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2018.
