There were a number of highlights featured during today’s Xbox presentation at Gamescom, but there’s no question that one of them had to be Cuphead. The game, which was confirmed earlier this year to finally release for Xbox One and PC in just a matter of weeks, keeps looking better with each new footage we’ve seen from it, and today was no exception.

To celebrate the game’s forthcoming release, Microsoft has released a slew of new images, including screenshots from the forthcoming bullet-hell-esque shoot-em-up and behind-the-scenes glimpses, like the use of watercolors and even some drawings that made it into the final game. If you’re a fan, you’ll definitely want to check these out.

The screenshots, mastered in 1080p, look amazing, showcasing a number of the unlikely bosses you’ll be facing within the game, including an actress with an umbrella, a mermaid with appreciation for her fish kind, laughing towers and so much more. The game truly does paint a pretty picture for what’s to come.

And the hand-drawn stuff looks pretty dazzling as well, as you really get an idea of how the project came together for Studio MDHR, from its earlygoing design stages all the way through the final project. Needless to say, our excitement has ratcheted up a few levels from seeing these.

You can check out the screenshots in the attached gallery, and prepare for amazingness as Cuphead makes its way to Xbox One and Windows 10 on September 29th.
