Don't you dare give into despair, boys and girls, because Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is nearly here. Brace yourself for another round of thrills, chills, and kills!

If you've never played a Danganronpa game, man, how to describe them? They're twisted Japanese visual novels in which a group of gifted high school kids are forced into a deadly game by an evil teddy bear named Monokuma. To escape the game, you need to murder one of your fellow classmates and get away with it, but if somebody does successfully escape, everybody else will be executed. Basically, they're Capcom's Ace Attorney meets The Hunger Games, except darker, dirtier, and a lot more weird.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony introduces a whole new set of characters to kill and be killed, a few of which are introduced in the game's latest trailer. In Danganronpa, all the characters are "Ultimates" – child prodigies who are the best in the world at one particular thing. The trailer highlights Ryoma Hoshi, the Ultimate Tennis Pro, Kaito Momota, the Ultimate Astronaut, Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Magician, Angie Yonaga, the Ultimate Artist, as well as a new Monokuma variant.

While we're at it, why don't you check out Danganronpa V3's recent overview trailer?

Here's publisher NIS America's official description for Danganronpa V3:

The Danganronpa franchise is a series of high-speed, logic-action games in which the player must reveal the culprit behind a murder by refuting various contradictions that appear during each class trial. New features have been added to Danganronpa V3 to help you advance each trial to its conclusion, such as the ability to lie and the Scrumm Debate, where students split into teams and present competing arguments. With its striking "psycho-cool" visuals and story, the newest chapter in the Danganronpa Universe is about to begin.

Are the Danganronpa games for everyone? Absolutely not, but they may be for you if you like quirky Japanese things and a good mystery. Danganronpa V3: Hilling Harmony slices up the PS4 and PS Vita on September 29.
