Before we break down this week’s events, be sure to check out our Destiny 2 guide here on what you need to know about power levels, milestones, and quick tips for major events such as this.

For those that may be new to the Trials of the Nine, it is a 4v4 event that has a few requirements in place. Firstly, players must complete the main Destiny 2 campaign before they can participate in this event after unlocking the Call to Arms Milestone. A power level of at least 260 is also required. Each weekend, the Trials map will rotate in order to provide a unique challenge for players to experience while playing for the more illusive loot drops. When going in, make sure that the fireteam you align yourself with before beginning is a team you trust because solid communication can be a match winner.

Another important thing to note is that once the Trials begins, the loadoutย chosen going in is the loadoutย players are stuck with – so plan ahead! It is recommended that each fireteam member has a different subclass to hit provide a variety of offense while in the match. Make sure that players are equipped with what they are most comfortable with, because those choices are locked until the match ends.ย

Luckily, level advantages don’t exist in this mode – so players don’t need to be decked out to the nines in the best of the best gear. Because of this, there is a little wiggle room for players to choose what they feel most experienced with versus competing for the highest possible level stat-wise (though obviously, still strive for powerful weapons).

Reward tokens earned during Trials of the Nine participation can be traded in to the vendor in the Spire, which is a social space available for those that have won their first match during the Trials. Take those tokens earned and trade them in for specific Trials loot, each tiered up by completion:ย

  • Three wins
  • Five wins
  • Seven wins
  • Flawless
