A lot of people that are going to be picking up Destiny 2 this September are probably well-seasoned with what the first game has to offer. That said, there are going to be a few new players that will need to adjust to the game's epic scope – but Bungie has something in place to help them out.

The developer has, in the past, noted that the game will be adaptable for hardcore and new players alike, and now we know the tool that new players can use to adapt – they're called Milestones.

Speaking with Game Rant, game director Luke Smith explained that, with the press of a single button, players will be able to see what the most relevant content within the game truly is, and will point out the biggest reward that is available to them. The Milestone will basically act as an in-game guide to point you in the right direction.

"If you see an activity on a destination, that's because you haven't done it yet," Mark Noseworthy, project lead, noted when it came to the new feature. "You can do it. Great. It's like Whack-A-Mole. Just get it done. And that will be in your Milestone tray. These are the things you can pull up at any point, and it'll tell you, 'Hey, the next most important things to do are this. You don't need to do them, but if you do them, this is the tier of reward that you're going to get.'"

These will be useful for players who are still getting used to things within the game, like raising up their Light level or trying to locate a Legendary drop that will gift them with some unbelievable gear or weaponry. And it might just help out a few players that haven't dived into Destiny in some time, in case they need to get reacquainted with some of the gameplay elements and gear that's available to them.

We'll see just how well this feature kicks in when the beta begins later this month. And then the game's release isn't too far off from there, as Destiny 2 is set to arrive on September 6th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and October 24th for PC.
