One of the more surprising Switch ports is now available and just because DOOM is bringing the pain the Nintendo console, doesn’t mean that it’s any less brutal. To celebrate the recent release, Bethesda has unveiled their Nintendo Switch-specific launch trailer and it definitely doesn’t hold back.

The new trailer, as expected, shows off the more unique qualities that the Switch has to offer including the portable and docked modes, the Joy-Con controls. Though it is a separate download, the multiplayer maps, arcade mode, and more are all still available – it’s just separated from the base game, though the additional files are included with the title’s cost.

DOOM for the Nintendo Switch has been completely restructured from the ground up specifically for the latest platform from the Big N. It shows and is not only reflected in the launch trailer, but within immediate gameplay itself. We here at ComicBook couldn’t get enough of it. “Developed by id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat โ€“ whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.”

DOOM is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
