The PS4 was the first and only platform that the game was expected to be released on for some time, but fans of the long-running series were holding out for welcome news that other systems would be able to enjoy the open-world action game as well. Rumors of what systems the game will be released on have now been put to rest, but one of the last remaining questions about the game relates to when exactly we’ll be able to try out the fast-paced combat.
There’s currently no release date set for the game, nor is there a firm release window to look forward to either. However, when it’s eventually released, players will have plenty of features and changes to look forward to.
The largest change of many, Dynasty Warriors 9 will be an open-world game, the first of its kind in the Dynasty Warriors series. Exploration and combat will create the newest game in the saga, a sizable change from previous installments.
And with an open world comes a much bigger game, a feature that might cause some worry related to how well the game will run across systems. Tecmo has considered that as well, and the game has been optimized to run at some pretty impressive levels. It was confirmed back in May that the game was shooting for 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps when played on the PS4 Pro, so even better results can be looked forward to on the Xbox One X and the PC that are now confirmed.
But without a compelling combat system to drive the game, the graphics and performance wouldn’t mean a great deal. Like the changes to make the game open-world, the combat system is also being improved by adding new combos, attack variations, and even some opportunities to use the environment to your advantage.
While there’s no release date for the game at this time, Dynasty Warriors 9 has been speculated in the past for a release in either late 2017 or early 2018.
