Fire Emblem Warriors is a terrific game, as you can see from our review that went up last week. But we can’t help but be perplexed by something – how can warriors pull off such an impressive set of moves while being weighed down by so much armor? Don’t you think warriors would be faster if they didn’t have so much on? It looks like we’re about to find out.

Nintendo has announced a new update that will be implemented into the game starting on November 16th, for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS. In it, you’ll see a number of new additions to the game, as well as an interesting new weapon attribute called Armor Strike.
Here’s how it works. By using weapons within the game, you’ll actually be able to destroy armor and cause a Broken Armor state, removing all the protective gear from your character so that they’re just wearing normal clothes. They essentially lose this attribute if they’re hit by a weapon, creating the Armor Break state.
Now, again, they don’t get naked. As you can see in the photo above, they’re merely stripped down to undergarments of some sort – this is a PG rated sort of game, after all. But they lose a good deal of armor in the process, creating an interesting new challenge to those looking for it. It’s optional, but definitely something that’s worth a try when the update arrives next week.
That’s not all. A new History map will also be introduced to the game, featuring main characters Rowan and Lianna battling the odds in their own special way. You’ll also be able to don those characters with free outfits, and call upon New Blessings into battle as you see fit.
Finally, if you have a bunch of weapons that you can’t wait to unload, you’ll be able to do just that, as a new option will be available in the store where you can sell off multiple weapons at once. It’s nice to unload them all and then use your newfound funds on stuff that you actually need – no more having to workingly sift through your inventory.
This update is free, and the first downloadable content for the game will release in December, providing paid content that includes new combatants and more.
