Recently, the mobile game Pokemon: Magikarp Jump unexpected received a soft launch in Italy's Apple App Store. The new game from the Pokemon Company was announced earlier in the year with much speculation surrounding the title, but it's release in Italy left the game locked to the region's App Store. But even though downloads of Pokemon: Magikarp Jump are currently restricted to Italy, there's still a way to download the game elsewhere, specifically here in North America — as long as you don't mind doing a bit of translating, that is.

If you truly can't wait to amass and raise your own unstoppable Magikarp force, the workaround to download the game before the worldwide release requires creating an Apple account for Italy. All this involves is creating a new Apple account on your device and setting the new region to Italy to "trick" the store into thinking that you're within that region.

An address is required to download the game, though, but there's an easy enough solution to that as well. Instead of buying up some property in Italy just to bulk up your Magikarps, simply input the address of a popular, more public location, such as a museum or similar area, and you're good to go. Pokemon: Magikarp Jump is free to play, so you don't have to worry about providing the new account with any credit card information, but be aware that the game does offer in-app purchases, so be careful where you're touching within the game if you're not fluent in Italian.

Unfortunately, the above workaround to get the game will only work for those who have iOS devices. That's the only platform that the game is currently available on, so Android users will likely have to wait just a bit longer to see what the game's all about.

There's no known date at this time for when the game will be released worldwide, but it's likely that the release will be coming soon. The soft release in one region follows suit with how Pokemon GO was released last year, so there's no reason to think that this won't be the same.

We'll report more information about the game and potential release dates once more announcements are available.
