The latest issue of Injustice 2 is now available digitally, and we knew that Tom Taylor would be shaking things up. The world of Injustice has become something like a murder mystery theater, where every time we feel like we’re getting a hang of who’s doing what, things get turned upside down.

This week’s issue is no different, and once again we have some serious revelations for Batman fans. Hell, this week’s issue had some serious revelations for Batman himself. Needless to say we’re going to be dealing with some pretty heavy spoilers ahead, so if you’re wanting to read every issue of the Injustice 2 comic yourself and experience everything fresh, now is the time to turn back.
Now then, if you’re still with us, then you’ll be very excited to know that Tom Taylor is expanding the world of Injustice 2 considerably. Issue #6 introduces us to characters that we never get to see in the game, and even introduces us to characters that we didn’t know existed yet. There is a single huge reveal in the comic, and Tom Taylor reveals even more new character reveals in a recent interview.
The first big shock comes after a perceived Superman breakout attempt provides the perfect distraction for the kidnapping of Damian Wayne. What happens after Damian meets his abductors is a bit mind-numbing.
Athanasia al Ghul
Batman has some troubled kids. Everyone knows Robin, we all love Nightwing, and we’re all big fans of Red Hood, but now we have another Bat-Child to contend with.ย
While everyone is distracted byย a crazy evil Batman and the Suicide Squad going up against Batman and his remnant of loyal heroes in a battle over the freedom of Superman, it’s revealed that the true target of this entire operation was Damian Wayne.ย
Taliaย al Ghulย and another mysterious and deadly female bust Damian out of his holding cell, and it’s not long before we find out who this mysterious new lady is:
That’s right. Athanasiaย al Ghulย is the “daughter of the bat,” and you better believe we’ll be seeing more of her soon. If not as a DLCย character inย Injustice 2, then certainly in the next issue of the comic. She wasn’t the only new character revealed, though. Tom Taylor explained in a recent interview that more new characters are about to appear in the comics very soon, including…
Aqualad
Aqualadย is apparently on the way! Many of you know and love Aqualadย from his appearances inย Young Justice, and he will no doubt be a very welcome addition to theย Injustice 2 canon. While we’re at it, we really wouldn’t mind seeing an Aqualadย premier skin for Aquaman in theย Injustice 2 video game since the two would share the same moveset for the most part.ย
It’s worth noting that Aqualadย does have the added ability to control the flow of electricity and use it as a weapon, and tends to opt for “Water Bearers” as a weapon instead of a trident. Still, we’d settle with seeing him stick to water-based attacks as a premier skin. We’ll be looking to see who he joins forces with in the next issue ofย Injustice 2!ย
And we’re not done yet.
Animal Man
Here’s an obscure hero for you — and we thoughtย Atrocitus was really reaching. Tom Taylor revealed that we’ll be seeing Animal Man appear very soon in theย Injustice 2 comics. We suppose a Animal Man cameo isn’t so far-fetched, since much of his career was pretty much composed of random cameos in other heroes’ comics. This is a hero who didn’t reach any kind of critical recognition until The New 52, but that’s no fault of his own.
Animal Man is a versatile and interesting character, since he can do so many different things. Much like Vixen, Animal Man has the ability to tap into the powers of pretty much any animal on earth, so depending on the need he can be super strong, super fast, or claim the power of flight. We’ll be really interested to see his design.
