Keanu Reeves has heard your pleas for him to return as Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2. Perhaps one of the best characters in gaming this decade is Johnny Silverhand, a punk rock Tyler Durden-esque figure who’s hell bent on anarchy in Night City. The Cyberpunk 2077 character made a strong impression on players due to his look and attitude, but also because he’s played by one of the most recognizable movie stars out there: Keanu Reeves. This wasn’t just a small celebrity cameo either, it was a meaty role that lasted the duration of the entire game along with the side quests and DLC.

However, his story largely concludes in the story for Cyberpunk 2077. There’s always a chance he returns given he’s just in V’s head via a piece of technology and that is something you can always find a way to do if you really want Silverhand back in the fold. We don’t know much about what to expect from Cyberpunk 2 beyond the fact it’s apparently set in a city that has been compared to a version of “Chicago gone wrong”. Beyond that, everything is a mystery and it will likely be years before we actually find out more about Cyberpunk 2077‘s sequel.
Keanu Reeves Wants to Return for Cyberpunk Sequel

Nevertheless, Keanu Reeves was asked in an interview with IGN whether or not he would be interested in playing Johnny Silverhand in the next Cyberpunk game. The actor was extremely enthusiastic about it and said the following: โAbsolutely. Iโd love to play Johnny Silverhand again.” Of course, actors typically aren’t ones to turn down any kind of work but those are big commitments. A video game takes years to make and Reeves has already seen this character’s arc pretty much all the way through, so he doesn’t have to feel obligated to do more if he really doesn’t want to do it.
Again, it will likely be years before we know what’s going on with Cyberpunk 2. We likely won’t know if Reeves is playing Silverhand again until much closer to its release. There is a lot for CD Projekt Red to do in the meantime with The Witcher 4 being the company’s next big game release. However, Silverhand could also return in the heavily rumored DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. Not much is known about that project, but developers have listed an unreleased DLC for the game on their resumes, so it seems like something is definitely brewing behind the scenes.
