Even though it is already September, some hype reveals may be left this year. Recently, a Nintendo insider teased that three games related to the number seven will be shown at the next Nintendo Direct. Now the possibility of a Direct coming this month has increased following another tease — this time from Sega ahead of its appearance at the 2025 Tokyo Game Show.

As part of its lead-up to the event, Sega and Atlus teased four games that will be part of its exhibition showcase. As gamers speculate about which new games they might be, it seems highly likely that at least one of them will also be revealed as part of a Direct, given Segaโs ongoing partnership with Nintendo and their tendency to reveal games at Nintendo events.
When Can Nintendo’s September Direct Be?
Since new games are set to be revealed at TGS towards the end of the month, the changes are high for a Direct to happen before that, or at least the week of the Tokyo conference. However, reliable leaker NatetheHate seemed confident a Direct would be coming during the second week of September, though there hasn’t been an official announcement yet.
Nintendo typically only gives a day or so of advanced warning for Directs, so if this prediction pans out, then it will need to be announced soon, perhaps even tomorrow. Switch Force, VGC, and Nintendo Everything have also reported that a Direct is likely this month, with best guesses being September 11th or September 12th.
Looking at the history of Nintendo Directs over the years, September has been a popular month for them to occur. While there was no Direct in September last year, September Directs were previously on a streak going back to 2016. The latest lapse in the pattern last year may have been caused by the fact that Nintendo was in between systems and preparing for the launch of Switch 2 in June of this year. Now that the Switch 2 is out, it will need a healthy helping of new games to fill its library.
What Games Could Be Revealed During a Nintendo Direct?

Unfortunately, with so many games in development it’s impossible to say exactly which games will be revealed, though our bets are on the long-awaited remakes for Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, two games that practically defined the Sega Dreamcast console, or perhaps even Like a Dragon Kenzan. Other than that, there’s a rumor that a new Pokemon game will be revealed during the direct, one not associated with the soon-to-be-released Pokemon Legends: Z-A. We’ll have to wait and see, but if the rumors are true, it’ll only be another few days.
