The rumored September Nintendo Direct has not been announced by Nintendo, but this may change this week. Ahead of this, though, a well-known Nintendo insider has teased some of the games that will be at said Nintendo Direct. The new tease comes the way of Switch Force, an emerging source on Nintendo that has proven reliable and reputable in recent weeks and months. Unfortunately, the new rumor is a little light on precise details, much like previous rumors about this new Nintendo Direct.

According to Switch Force, there will be three “7” games at the Nintendo Direct, which presumably refers to three games with “7” or “VII” in their title or that are the 7th installment in their respective series. What Switch Force does not disclose is what these games are, though there aren’t a ton of possibilities because there aren’t many games with either of these in their title.
Potential Games
So, what could these mystery games be? Well, here are recent titles released, or about to be released, that fit the billing: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Resident Evil 7, 007 First Light, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, and Civilization VII.
Given previous rumors, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming to Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2, or both, would not be very surprising. Likewise, Microsoft pledged to release Call of Duty games on Nintendo devices for the foreseeable future, so Black Ops 7 also seems likely. The rest are far more speculative, though not unreasonably speculative. For example, Resident Evil 7 is on Switch, so the idea that it would come to Switch 2 before Resident Evil Requiem would not be that surprising, especially considering the recent rumors about the 2026 Resident Evil game coming to Switch 2. Likewise, the previous Civilization game is also on Switch, so this year’s new installment could very well come to Nintendo Switch 2. There are similar precedents for Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Of course, it is also worth considering that one or two or all of the games included could be games not even announced yet. In this case, there have been rumors of a Dragon Quest 7 Remake for a little while now.
Unfortunately, right now all we have is speculation. Of course, take both this speculation and the rumor responsible for it with a grain of salt. So far, Nintendo has not been drawn out for comment, and considering it never comments on Nintendo Direct rumors, we do not expect this to change. If it does, though, we will update the story accordingly.
