The Nintendo Switch has certain genres decently covered, it already has it share of platformers and racers, but its definitely lacking in good old puzzle-solving adventure games. Well, that may soon change, as it seems Thimbleweed Park is on the way to the system.

Thimbleweed Park co-creator Ron Gilbert recently teased a Switch port, showing the game running on the system with full touchscreen support. Honestly, I shouldn’t even call this a tease โ€“ it’s clear the game is more or less ready to go. Check it out, belowโ€ฆ

Successfully Kickstarted in 2014, Thimbleweed Park is the brainchild of Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, who co-created Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island. The game features glorious VGA graphics, intentionally antiquated gameplay that requires you to pick all your actions from a list of verbs, and a delightfully demented storyline.

Detectives Ray and Reyes, who just so happen to look a lot like The X-Files’ Mulder and Scully, come to Thimbleweed Park to solve a murder, and quickly find themselves sucked into a strange world of ghosts, aliens, and foul-mouthed clowns. It’s like a classic LucasArts adventure game got lost in some filing cabinet 25 years ago, and we’re finally getting a chance to play it!

If you just can’t wait for the Nintendo Switch version of Thimbleweed Park, it’s currently available on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, and mobile. It’s one of the best games of the first half of 2017, so you should really ought to give its point ‘n’ click charms a whirl.
