A new patch for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is coming next week that'll add several improvements and a new weapon, but vaulting sadly isn't among the list of changes.

It's been a while since the last update went live for the battle royale game, so any changes will likely be welcome, especially when they introduce a new weapon for players to dominate with. Announced on Friday through the game's Twitter account, the Mini-14 is the newest gun to be added to the game.

Instead of being exclusive to crates, the players can find the gun in locations throughout the map. But outside of their Twitter account, more details about the next update were revealed through Facebook where a couple more changes were outlined.

"We've been working on the new build and will deploy the update next week," a Facebook announcement read. "As we prepare to deploy our next build, we are going to release a test build early next week. The test servers will be up for 2 days. Some of the key features of the new build include a new weapon, foggy weather condition, FPP leaderboards and multiple bug fixes."

The foggy weather mechanic that's been discussed previously for the king of the hill game is an addition that's received some conflicting responses, something that probably should be expected considering how massive the game has become. Some players are worried about how it'll affect in-game performance and FPS, but the majority of players who have responded to the mechanic lately seem to appreciate the change.

But among all the changes coming in the next patch, players are still incredibly interested in the new vaulting mechanic that was previewed months ago. The system would allow players to quickly traverse obstacles depending on the speed they approach them, but it's a tool that's taking a while to get just right before it's released.

The full patch notes for the next PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds patch are expected to be released soon according to their announcement, so expect to see a full list of changes and bugfixes within the week.
