The PlayStation 4 has become the home for various classic PlayStation 2 experiences, including the likes of Destroy All Humans!, Red Faction, Max Payne and a handful of others. But Rockstar Games‘ titles are most noteworthy, if only because people get to experience the classic Grand Theft Auto games all over again. And there’s more where that came from.

GamesRadar recently reported that a number of classic titles from Rockstar’s library will be coming to PlayStation 4 with re-releases, including two Grand Theft Auto classics. These include Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, both of which first went on the handheld front before coming to the PS2.
Official ESRB ratings have been given for each of the games, though the listing was recently taken down, possibly due to Rockstar Games wanting the announcement to be a surprise. We’re not sure when they’re set to release, but there’s a possibility we could be seeing them later this year.
In addition to those games, two other PS2 classics have also resurfaced, in the form of Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition, the open-world driving game with a number of challenges; and the sequel Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, which was very popular on the PS2 in its heyday.
Rockstar has already released a number of PS2-to-PS4 games for players to enjoy, including the original Max Payne, as well as Bully, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and more. So the arrival of these games is very likely, though, again, we’re still waiting on some form of release date.
When they do arrive, however, we expect a few features to be in play, including the ability to capture screenshots, as well as Trophies that can be unlocked. We’re just waiting on official word from Rockstar as to if the games will officially be coming in the next few months or not.
For now, though, you’ve got plenty of PS2 classics to enjoy on your system โ might we suggest another run-through of San Andreas? You can’t really go wrong with a classic like that.
