First Pokemon Go Fest Details Revealed
Yesterday, the Chicago Tribune published some new details about Pokemon Go Fest, the upcoming live [...]
The Ultimate Gym
The most intriguing new detail about Pokemon Go Fest is the presence of an "Ultimate Gym" located at the top of Butler Field's amphitheatre. The location of the ultimate gym is notable in that the amphitheatre is the only place with a large amount of seating at the field.
While the map didn't provide any additional details about the "Ultimate Gym," many fans are speculating that this could be tied to a possible Legendary Raid that would appear during the event.
If a Legendary Raid does appear at Pokemon Go, Niantic better have some crowd control measures in place, because every attendee will want to participate for a chance to beat and capture a Legendary Pokemon at the same time.

We previously knew that Pokemon Go Fest would have special "team lounges" for players to rest and socialize during the event. The lounges will be set up on opposite corners of Butler Field and will contain multiple 60-inch TVs for players to watch.
While we knew about the lounges, the map also revealed that each team would have a special gym at their lounge. Each gym will be marked with a large pillar with a video screen on it, presumably to show which Pokemon are currently defending the gym along with any pending raid information.

The actual event will be held in Butler Field, a large open park with an amphitheater in one corner, and two adjacent Rose Gardens. A special "PokeWalk" will be set up during the event containing 11 PokeStops.
We're assuming that the PokeStops will be lured for the entirety of the event to help keep the Pokemon supply abundant and encourage people to make multiple loops of the park.
The PokeWalk will conveniently pass through both a special booth set up by Sprint (one of Pokemon Go's sponsors) and a food court set up along a street separating Butler Field from the Rose Gardens.

Since Pokemon Go needs the Internet to function, Pokemon Go Fest will have multiple WiFi towers set up to compensate for any cellular data issues related to big crowds and festivals.
The event will also have a Pikachu Photo Op booth, a merchandise booth, and several beverage stations to keep attendees hydrated during the event. However, the Chicago Tribune confirmed that alcohol will not be served during the event, even though Niantic had applied for and obtained an alcohol permit.
We'll likely find out more information about Pokemon Go Fest in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
