It is no secret that Resident Evil 2 is a staple in horror game history and it looks like hardcore fans will have yet another way to enjoy the classic Capcom sequel because the tabletop adaptation is a "go" in a big way!
The team behind the Resident Evil 2 tabletop game have recently released a statement to their backers congratulating them on hitting a huge new milestone. As of today, they have officially surpassed their stretch goal by hitting over $857,285! This is what Steamforged Games Ltd had to say about the new character unlocked for hitting this amazing stretch goal:
"A disturbingly morbid and sinister man even before the outbreak, Brian Irons was an eccentric and unhinged man with a dark past. Revealed during the events of Resident Evil™ 2 to be orchestrating the downfall of the RPD from within, Irons even went as far as to hunt down surviving police officers during the siege.
When we sat down to design the Chief, we brought a wide variety of concepts to the table. Amongst others, we discussed his appearance as an NPC, as a mini-boss, and even as a type of card in the Tension Deck. But then we found an idea which really fit the character better than any of the above…
Players using the Police Chief as a playable character during their games of Resident Evil 2 – The Board Game will have a very different win condition to the other players – they'll be trying to hunt the other survivors down and eliminate them! The first of our 'Bad Guy' player characters, Brian Irons can attack the other survivors, steal items, and bait enemies."
