Arc System Works has announced that it will be releasing a new compilation called Kunio-Kun: The World Classics Collection in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Note that this is just for the Japanese region, and a U.S. release hasn’t been announced โ€“ at least, not yet.

Fans will recognize the first four titles in the collection, as they stem from the Nintendo Entertainment System era โ€“ the classic brawler River City Ransom; the sports classic Super Dodge Ball; the Olympics-style competition Crash ‘n the Boys Street Challenge; and the beat-em-up Renegade. On top of that, the following 11 titles will be included, too.

  • Downtown Nekketsu Koushinkyoku
  • Nekketsu Koukou Dodge Ball Bu
  • Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu
  • Nekketsu! Street Basket
  • Nekketsu Koukou Dodge Ball Bu: Soccer Hen
  • Bikkuri Nekketsu Shinkiroku: Harukanaru Kin Medal
  • Kunio-kun no Nekketsu Soccer League
  • Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu
  • Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun
  • Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari
  • Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki da yo Zen’in Shuugou!

It’s hard to make out what these game titles are, but there appears to be another dodgeball game or two in there, along with a hockey game, soccer game and even a basketball game. So there’s a lot of variety to go around.

Kunio-Kun: The World Classics Collection also offers online play across all platforms, along with goodies that you can earn for your avatar and game screen by completing goals in games. So it stacks up a bunch of stuff for an 8-bit style collection.

Again, there’s no word on a U.S. release, but considering that Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch are pretty much region free, you should be able to pick these up and enjoy them just as much as you did back in the NES/Famicom days. Hopefully we’ll see a U.S. release, though, because we want to get our online River City Ransom on.

Check out the debut trailer for the collection above! We’ll have more details leading to its release next year.
