Sega Teases 4 New Game Reveals Coming Very Soon

At the end of the month, gamers will be treated to the Tokyo Game Show, which is billed as Japan’s largest video game convention. With such a large audience in attendance and all the attention from those around the world watching, it is the perfect opportunity for companies to reveal new games and generate hype for upcoming projects. Now, Sega seems to be taking advantage of this platform to announce that four unknown games will soon be revealed. On its official Tokyo Game Show 2025 website, Sega/Atlus unveiled a list of titles it plans to exhibit, leaving four spots blank with โ€œcoming soonโ€ banners and teasing that new game information will be made available to players at the show that starts on September 25th.

Speculation Begins For What These Titles Might Be

With little to go on from this site alone, fans are only left to speculate what these reveals could be based on what we already know. The currently revealed title list includes:

  • Sonic Racing: Crossworlds
  • Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.
  • Persona 3 Reload
  • Persona 5: The Phantom X
  • Football Manager 26
  • EA Sports FC 26
  • Borderlands 4
  • Project Motor Racing
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

The tease sparked discussions online from fans who want to see new entries from their favorite older series. The Crazy Taxi series, first released on consoles for the Sega Dreamcast, was one of its most popular and best-selling games. However, the mobile game Crazy Taxi: City Rush, released in 2014, is the series’s most recent installment. Last year, Sega delisted Crazy Taxi and several of its classic titles, making them harder to play and possibly preparing for a new release. We already know, based on reveals at the 2023 Game Awards, that Sega is currently working on new Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio games. There is a good chance one or both of these games will occupy some of the teased Tokyo Game Show slots.

A new Shenmue game is another possible contender for one of the four spots. Fans have been patiently waiting for a Shenmue 4 announcement for the longest time, as the Shenmue series has still not been given a proper ending after 24 years. At the end of last year, ININ Games announced they had obtained the publishing rights for Shenmue III, and teased that โ€œthe story of Shenmue is far from over,โ€ and that they would soon โ€œunveil our vision for the next phase of Shenmueโ€™s legacy.โ€ While Sega isn’t involved with Shenmue any longer, it seems, perhaps it could look to collaborate in some way on the next entry in the series.

As for the fourth spot on the list, itโ€™s very possible that this could be an entry for the Panzer Dragoon series. Forever Entertainment announced today that a remake of Panzer Dragon II Zwei will be coming for console and PC, but a release date has not been set yet. However, we do know that a playable demo will be coming to the Tokyo Game Show this year.

For now, we’re left in the dark when it comes to what Sega will be unveiling later this month. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out, so be sure to keep following ComicBook as we near these announcements at the end of September.
