Last year, Sony took brave new strides into the home virtual reality market by releasing the PlayStation VR, a headset that worked with both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro to take players into trailblazing, immersive worlds.

And while the headset didn't go completely nuts on sales, it did serviceably well for Sony, to the point that it recently earmarked its forthcoming first year anniversary. The company has noted that it will launch a series of videos celebrating the device and its many games, kicking off in just a few days. In the meantime, you can catch the teaser above, which should set the mood for the videos to come.

Sony noted the following on its blog post:

"It's been almost one year since the launch of PlayStation VR! And in that time, PlayStation and its development partners have built a library of more than 100 games that cut across all genres… and created a few new ones in the process.

We're just getting started with this powerful new entertainment medium. This new video series expresses the physical sensations you experience when PS VR transports you to the amazing gaming worlds like Skyrim VR and Gran Turismo Sport.

It's a good time to join the VR gaming revolution. We've been hard at work building up a library of the best VR gaming content in the business."

The blog post also contains a list of all of the available games for the headset, but didn't quite reveal what was coming around the corner. However, the company did note that it has "a lot more to say" about its future, and we're likely to see what's next soon enough – maybe even in a couple of months when PlayStation Experience takes place. (Fingers crossed.)

In the meantime, there are a number of experiences that are worth checking out, including the fun tank game Battlezone VR, the hero emulator Batman: Arkham VR, and the arcade shooter Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, each of which will immerse you pretty nicely into the technology. So check them out when you get a chance!

PlayStation VR is available now for PlayStation 4.
