Face Your Fears, an interactive adventure game for virtual reality devices, has gotten a boost from a major franchise just in time for Halloween.

Turtle Rock Studios, the developer of the hit multiplayer game Evolve and the two Left 4 Dead games for Xbox 360 and PC, have announced that it has partnered with both Oculus and Netflix to bring themed Stranger Things DLC to the Face Your Fears game, which is available for free starting today. This is specifically for the Oculus store, and can be used with the Samsung Gear VR headset.

"Coinciding with the release of the second season of Stranger Things, this new content takes players to the quiet town of Hawkins, Indiana, where they'll encounter a series of spine-tingling events in both the real world and its dark mirror, the Upside Down," Oculus noted in a press statement. "Originally debuting on Gear VR on Halloween last year, Face Your Fears is a petrifying experience that brings players up close and personal with the darkest and creepiest phobias imaginable."

Here's the official description from the product page: "Just another day in Hawkins, Indiana. October 31st. Getting ready to hand out candy. What could happen, in such an idyllic town? Certainly there's no chance of you getting sucked into the Upside Down, fighting off Demogorgons, and desperately trying to get back to the real world. There's a very slim chance you'll make it through the night!"

Considering the talent involved with Turtle Rock – and the popularity of the Stranger Things show, with its second season just premiering on Netflix over the weekend – this should bring quite a push to Face Your Fears, especially for players that are looking to experience the Upside Down for themselves. And the fact you can download it for free here certainly doesn't hurt either.

You can check out Stranger Things on Netflix now.
