We’ve seen hints that it would possibly be making a return in the latest chapter of the series, but now it’s official – Tekken Bowl is back, baby!

Bandai Namco Games confirmed that the popular bowling mini-game, which initially debuted in Tekken Tag Tournament back on the PlayStation 2, will be making its return in Tekken 7 next month, as part of a forthcoming package of downloadable content for the game.
Titled Ultimate Tekken Bowl, the game will allow you to take your favorite characters from the fighting series and take on traditional ten-pin bowling, using a number of strengths for each character to get their ball to roll with the right amount of precision and power.
The game hasn’t been seen in the series since Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection came out for the PlayStation 3 years ago, though Bandai Namco did attempt to release it separately as a mobile game back in 2011 (though that has since been removed from the App Store for reasons not yet explained).
Ultimate Tekken Bowl‘s trailer can be seen above, and it provides a good idea of what to expect from the downloadable content, including plenty of bowling challenges amongst other players, as well as the ability to put Heihachi in his place with a well-landed 7-10 split. (That is, if you can make it.)
And, of course, there’s the game’s producer, Harada-san, showing off his expertise in a Bullet Club shirt when it comes to dominating in bowling. It just wouldn’t be a Tekken commercial without him, now would it? (By the way, we totally want that shirt when we go bowling, just for the sake of argument.)
Also, we can’t help but enjoy the fact that the traditional pins in the bowling game have been replaced with Heihachi trophies. We bet the ol’ guy isn’t too fond of watching his likeness get knocked around by bowling balls.
A release date and price point haven’t been given for the DLC pack just yet, but we should get those details soon.
Tekken 7 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Don’t let its fighting, ahem, bowl you over.
