The record for most reveals during a previous Game Awards broadcast was back on Spike in 2014, in which 12 reveals were made. But it sounds like this year’s will top that, with about 13 or so.
Geoff Keighley, the producer of the show, recently took to Twitter to talk about the show, explaining that he has the “biggest world premiere lineup yet” for the show.
Per his Twitter account, Keighley explained, “I wanted to keep the spotlight on nominees in the initial conversation about @thegameawards. Soon: Telling you more about our biggest world premiere lineup yet.”
He also answered a fan’s question about possibly world premiere trailers at the event, to which he responded, “Yes definitely.”
We already know about a couple of the reveals that will be at the event, including a first look at PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ new Desert map, as well as a potential new mode that will be revealed for Epic Games’ Fortnite. But there are bigger games that could be revealed at the event, with whispers that we’ll get a first look at the rumored Devil May Cry 5 sequel, as well as Soul Calibur VI. Those aren’t confirmed just yet, though – hence why they’re “surprises”.
We’ll see what happens in just a few days’ time. You’ll be able to stream The Game Awards event starting on December 7th. More details on the show can be found here.
