Welp, it looks like we won’t have to wait for EA Play to roll around next week to get our first glimpse at the next chapter in the Need For Speed franchise.

Electronic Arts and Ghost Games have announced today that the game will be fully revealed starting tomorrow, June 2nd, at 9 AM PDT at this YouTube link. The teaser trailer should give us an idea not only of what to expect from the series, but also where it’s taking place โ and who you’ll be racing against.
Some hints have already popped up online over the past few days in regards to the new direction that the series will be taking, following its 2015 self-titled release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Origin PC. The game will offer off-line play this time around, instead of being an “online only” affair like what the last game offered.
In addition, customization will “play as strong a role as ever” within the game, so you can trick out your ride without having to pay out the nose for a high-end custom team to do it for you. Cops and robbers chases will also be making a return to the series, for the first time in a few years, which should no doubt make fans of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit quite happy.
The world will also “not only look beautiful,” according to the developer, but also “offer you the space in which to do the things you want.” So if this means peeling out across a crazy street race, or just performing a few stunts at your own free will, it sounds like you’ll have the ability to do that.
The 2015 game wasn’t half bad, despite its online-only connectivity, as it tried to tell a story with more characters getting involved with your racing adventures, as well as a variety of events to choose from. Hopefully, the next Need For Speed will expand upon that greatly, while keeping the high-octane action we’ve come to expect from the series.
We’ll bring you full details on the game once it’s fully revealed. It’ll release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year.
