The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt recently received more details on what all its Xbox One X enhancements would entail.

Having the game play in 4K seemed like it’d be a given with the power that the Xbox One X contains combined with the already stunning graphics of The Witcher 3, but the announcement about the game’s enhancements don’t specify whether it’s native 4K or not. Instead, it simply refers to the 4K along with other various graphic and performance improvements.

“With the additional power of the Xbox One X, we are able to deliver The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 4K, while providing numerous visual tweaks such as higher-quality shadows, ambient occlusion, & texture filtering, as well as higher resolution textures, and an all-around performance boost,” said CD Projekt RED’s Jakub Kutrzuba in an update from Xbox Wire.

A similar description of enhancements was provided for the game when it received a PlayStation 4 Pro patch, so if you’ve seen the game being played on that version, you might already have an idea of what to expect. However, with the amped-up power that the Xbox One X has, you’ll likely still be seeing it a bit differently.

While the rest of the enhancements aren’t as clear, the visuals are something worth looking forward to according to the Xbox Wire’s conversation with Kutrzuba.

“Beautiful visuals are one of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s standout features, breathing life into the game’s open-world full of places to see, secrets to uncover, and adventures to embark on,” Kutrzuba said. “When enhancing the game for Xbox One X, we wanted to use the additional power of the console to deliver an even more visually stunning experience. When playing the game on Xbox One X, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s visuals are sharper and the overall presentation more vivid than ever before on Xbox.”

The Xbox One X launches on Nov. 7, so if you’re already a veteran of The Witcher 3 or haven’t yet had a chance to play it, it’s the perfect time to do so either way on the powerful new Xbox console.
