If you're an avid Overwatch fan, then chances are you've gone out of your way to collect all the best stuff possible, whether it's the newly announced Jinx gear, the limited edition headset, or the number of other goods that make you feel like you're screaming, "Hey, I'm the greatest Overwatch fan!" Well, sure…but not without these controllers.
Blizzard recently posted a blog discussing how it's recently teamed up with the artists at ARTtitude to create a series of limited edition, one-of-a-kind controllers based on characters from the hit multiplayer game, representing each of the 24 heroes.
"These handmade controllers were created by talented European street artists and each one is a unique numbered piece," the publisher explained. These artists include Tsuchinoko San, Ned Nedellec, Simon Delart, Hugo Delart, Julie Lefebvre, Marcos Clatablera and Joshua Kelly. And, yes, we want that D.Va controller something fierce.
Ah, but there's a catch. These controllers aren't available for purchase. Instead, they're being given away, and it appears that they're only being handed out to gamers in Europe. "Rejoice, you'll have a chance to win these controllers through various contests and giveaways organized across Europe," the publisher explained. "Keep an eye on our official channels for news of these opportunities in the coming days and through the year."
We've included a gallery that shows off all 24 of these amazing controller designs. Sadly, there's no word if Blizzard will do a similar contest here in the U.S., or even produce an official line of controllers. That would certainly hit the spot with fans of the series, who would no doubt go out of their way to collect one or two of these for their gaming set-up. Hell, we even know a few folks crazy enough to go after 24, just to show what kind of die-hard fans they really are.
On the bright side, E3 is coming next week, so we're likely to get some sort of Overwatch announcements, so that certainly beats nothing. But, yeah, again, what we wouldn't give to have that D.Va controller in our grasp. Nerf this!
Overwatch is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
