With the recent release of the first trailer for the The Mandalorian and Grogu film, Star Wars fans finally have something to be excited about. Not only that, Funko is sweetening the moment by delivering the Asajj Ventress Funko Pop that everyone has been asking for. It’s part of a large wave of new Star Wars Pops that focuses on animated Star Wars shows, from Clone Wars to Tales of the Jedi to Rebels.

In the wave you’ll find Funko Pops of Count Dooku, Kanan Jarrus, ARC Trooper Jesse (with the chance at a masked Chase) and and adorable Pop and Buddy of Hondo Ohnaka and the pirate’s Kowakian monkey-lizard Pikk, Ventress’s design sticks out the most to me, and not only because it’s the first ever Funko Pop of the character. It’s a striking figure. The Hondo Pop is also interesting because the only other example was a Disney Parks exclusive in 2019.

The Mandalorian and Grogu film marks the first time a Star Wars project has premiered in theaters since Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker, and expectations are high. The first trailer got off of the right foot by revealing multiple easter eggs for those eagle-eyed fans out there. This includes a reference to the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, the now-closed immersive hotel experience at Disney World, an Amani, a creature from Return of the Jedi, and a creature from the game Dejarik, the boardgame first introduced in A New Hope.
The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released on May 22nd, 2026. Are you excited for the new film? Are you excited about finally getting the Asajj Ventress Funko Pop you’ve been waiting for? Let us know in the comments.
