Guardians Of The Galaxy

All the attention is on Captain America: Civil War and the other films slated for phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and rightfully so. The staff at Marvel Studios still has one eye on the future, though, and specifically on phase 4.

During his conversation with iO9, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige touched on what is coming down the pike, and mentioned that a particularly popular group of heroes is most definitely a part of it.

"We're only working on what's been announced through the end of 2019," said Feige. "And it is still a big chess board for 2020 and beyond, but certainly I would say Guardians 3 is [one film that's] up there. I don't know what exactly the order will be."

While all of this is still in the planning phase, it's still reassuring that Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Due to their space-faring nature, GOTG 3 could lay the foundation for any number of storylines in phase 4, and could serve as a vehicle to introduce a litany of new characters to the mix.

Maybe I'll finally get my on-screen Darkhawk. They must have gotten my tweets.
