The British Board of Film Classification recently updated their records, and included in the new additions is a trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The trailer will be 1 minute and 29 seconds, so it won’t be huge, but it will give fans who weren’t at San Diego Comic-Con their first glimpse of the anticipated project.
Fans are hopeful that it will give us the first glimpse of Kurt Russel’s Ego the Living Planet, who is also Star-Lord’s father. The actor recently commented on the initial footage and said even that is nothing compared to what is in store.
“I was impressed with the stuff that I saw at Comic-Con, but they didn’t show you everything [laughs]. It’s a very complex story, and they really get into it. This is going to be one of the moreโprobably for Marvel, it’s more connected to human issues, family issues, parental issues, and issues that sons and daughters have with their moms and dads and their family tree, where they come from. I just think it’s going to be an interestingโ Peter’s character in this one, he’s got dilemmas and he’s got decisions to make that are not just about whether to save that thing or that person. This is about finding out who you are, where you come from, and where you’re going.”
It should also have plenty of Baby Groot, and actor Vin Diesel described this project in comparison to the original Guardians.
“The first movie was really about becoming a family. This movie is about being a family. And what’s harder, becoming a family or being a family? I think it’s being a family. That’s where you really have to deal with each other. And that’s what this movie is about. And their sisters. They are family, whether they like it or not. And they also want to kill each other, so it adds a new twist to being a sister.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
