X-Men movie fans have been eagerly waiting to learn what the next installment of the franchise is going to be.
After the big success of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the somewhat lesser success of X-Men: Apocalypse – and a whole lot of Deadpool and Wolverine Logan continuity questions in between – it’s been anyone’s guess what franchise shehards Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg have planned next.

Given the climatic battle of Apocalypse, and continued rumors on the Interwebs, it seems as though some kind of X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga adaptation could be next to hit the screen; however, we’ve also heard that Fox could be rebooting the series. In either case, a new report states the film has set up production offices in Montreal, and is getting ready for a May 2017 shoot.
The report comes from Le Journal De Montreal (via Den of Geek) and actually confirms a rumor the publication floated last year, stating that the next X-Men movie would shoot around this same time.
Fox aimed to have an X-Men movie in theaters around 2018; so again, this all makes sense. We’ll keep you updated on details as they emerge.
In the meantime, Logan will be in theaters on March 3, 2017, and Deadpool 2 is still eyeing an early 2018 release.
