Now that the Inhumans and X-Men aren’t at war, it opens things up for some classic X-Men villains to make their back to the forefront. That includes the brother of Xavier Cain Marko, more commonly known as the Juggernaut. The villain will be making his presence felt in this week’s X-Men: Blue #1, and he’ll be returning with an all new look.

The classic brown and tan gives way to a more modern armor palette, with a copper brown paired with an almost gunmetal gray. The changes go beyond the coloring of the suit though, as the shoulder and upper chest piece is know held in place by three large buckles. The neck of the armor runs higher, almost encasing the helmet aside from a small gap up front. The oddest addition though is the Bane-like pumps that run from the back to the helmet. The character doesn’t get his powers from any fluid or gas, so it’s an odd design choice to go with. Hopefully, it is explained later on.

Recently writer Cullen Bunn spoke to ComicBook.com about Juggernaut, who is returning with his best friend Black Tom. They won’t be the only classic villains to make their way to the book. “As anyone who read my UNCANNY X-MEN run knows, I enjoy delving back into X-Men history, and I love revisiting classic X-villains. We’re seeing Black Tom and Juggernaut–as classic an X-Men villain pairing as there’s ever been–in our first issue. But were also going to be seeing a number of fan-favorite villains from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond. I hope that I’ve managed to add a few surprises to some of these classic villains, some things you wouldn’t expect. And there will be characters you haven’t seen in decades joining the cast.”

X-Men: Blue #1 is written by Cullen Bunn with art by Matteo Buffagni and Jorge Molina. You can view the issue’s official description below as well as an image of the Juggernaut’s new costume.
