Avengers: Kevin Feige Elaborates On How All The Marvel Characters Fit Into Infinity War

The bigger a film's scope, the harder it becomes to give everyone involved their due screen time. That is one of the many challenges in shooting something like Avengers: Infinity War, which will encompass the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It's an issue that has received plenty of attention from directors The Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. In an interview with Mama Smiths, the director described the process of making all of those characters fit together. "As with all of the connectivity between our characters on various films, you have to be careful about it. We never want it to just seem like characters are popping their heads out of windows and saying "Hello" and then going back in. Believe me, it'd be easier to do it that way, but it wouldn't be as satisfying. So a big role, a small role, regardless of the actual screen time that any single character has – and I think you've seen this in the Avengers films, and in Civil War last year – it'll be very meaningful and very important to the story that we're telling. That film is shooting right now and we've already shot a lot of those interactions, and it's very exciting."
The anticipation is high for Infinity War, in part because of the first time interactions between the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers. It will also be the first time many of the biggest franchise stars interact with Doctor Strange, The Wasp, Black Panther, and Spider-Man. Civil War didn't feel like a series of cameos, and it looks like the crew has a plan in place to make sure Infinity War doesn't either.
Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters now. Spider-Man: Homecoming lands on July 7, 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
