Marvel Generations is set to run from August to September in a 10-issue series focusing on some of their most popular characters and their successors.
The series looks to celebrate the legacy of some fan-favorite characters such as Wolverine, Spider-Man, the Phoenix, and Thor, in a celebration of past and present while setting up the future.
Now Marvel is giving fans their first glimpse of what to expect in the new event by releasing covers and variants for eight of the comics, including the issues that focus on Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Hulk, Captain America, and more.
Some of the covers hint at the nature of the team ups, such as Sam Wilson traveling to the past to fight alongside the original Captain America and his sidekick Bucky Barnes in World War 2. Another shows Logan and Laura, both Wolverines, surrounded by the villainous assassins of the Hand.

And another cover, perhaps most surprisingly, depicts the two God of Thunders going up against each other while the X-Men villain Apocalypse watches ominously in the background.
Marvel is currently in the midst of Secret Empire, the controversial event series where Steve Rogers subverts the United States under control of Hydra. Considering they just added yet another issue to the end of that series, bringing it up to eight issues (nine if you include the #0 issue) it’s likely that Generations begins before Secret Empire ends.
A synopsis for Marvel Generations has yet to be released, but marvel.com described the series thusly:
Once upon a time, a kid from New York City picked up a shield and charged into battleโฆ A prodigal son lifted a sacred hammer and proved himself worthyโฆ And an arrogant genius forged an armor that would harness his true potential. Together, they became some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and ushered in the age of marvels! GENERATIONS brings together Miles Morales and Peter Parker, Laura Kinney and Logan, Amadeus Cho and Bruce Banner, plus more, and illuminates the path that all these heroes will take into the future for a thrilling quest unlike anything seen in the Marvel Universe before.
Marvel Generations begins in August.
