Spoilers incoming for The Mighty Thor #20, so if you haven’t read it yet you’ve been warned.
In the newest issue of The Mighty Thor, Jane Foster goes to meet Odinson on Old Asgard, where he is currently guarding the ultimate universe hammer that crash landed after Secret Wars. Foster is meeting him for the first time since discovering she was the new wielder of Mjolnir, and throughout their conversation, he reveals he wasn’t always the best partner.
Odinson says “This is recompense is it not? For me wronging you years ago. For my dalliances when we were romantically involved. Is that why you finally told me the truth? That it’s you who’s been parading around with my hammer for months now? Firs you play me for a fool and now you wish to gloat?”
So in other words, yeah, he took it well.
The plural of “dalliances” indicates all you need to know about the two’s previous relationship, though Jane had nothing to do with his current predicament. He was deemed unworthy after hearing the words from Nick Fury, and Jane took up the hammer after he could no longer wield it.
Also, just an aside, when she did tell him she recounts “you yelled at me and rode away on your goat, because…of course, you did.” Way to handle the news Odinson.
Jane also divulges to him that her human form has cancer, and she is considering becoming the Thunder Gold full time, condemning her human form in the process.
As for Odinson, he currently guards the ultimate universe hammer, which he defended from The Collector and Thanos. Elsewhere in the issue, that hammer gets a brand new wielder, and the result might surprise you.
