On Monday, January 29th, the film’s lead Chadwick Boseman will be Kimmel’s first guest. Boseman debuted in the role of T’Challa, king of Wakanda, in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. Black Panther will be his first film headlining as the character.

On Wednesday, January 31st, Danai Gurira will be Kimmel’s second guest. Gurira is best known for playing Michonne on The Walking Dead. In Black Panther, she plays Okoye, one of the Dora Milaje.

On Friday, February 1st, Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o will be Kimmel’s first guest. Nyong’o won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave. In Black Panther, she plays Nakia, another of the Dora Milaje.

The Dora Milaje are the “adored ones,” Black Panther’s assistants/bodyguards. In the comics, they are also T’Challa’s ceremonial “wives-in-training,” though that aspect has been left out of the film.

“That was part of the original Christopher Priest run where they were all sort of betrothed which, look, we felt like wasn’t necessary to tell the story of the Dora, and in a way we all kind of rejected as being a little creepy,” executive producer Nate Moore said. “So yeah, we will not be exploring that.”

Black Panther is currently projected for an opening weekend at the box office of up to $120 million. The film was voted the most-anticipated solo movie debut of 2018 and the second-most-anticipated movie of the year overall.

Black Panther currently has a ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating of 4.17 out of 5, making it the second most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com Users.
