The Guardians Of The Galaxy Might Be In 'Thor: Ragnarok'

The Broker

The Milano wasn't the only Guardians connection made in the form of concept art on the set of Thor: Ragnarok. Also featured in some concept art was the Broker, a character introduced in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Broker was the character on Xandar who Star-Lord initially met with when trying to sell the orb he obtained early in the first film. When the Broker learned Ronan the Accuser was after this orb which we later found out contained an Infinity Stone, he was quick to shut Peter Quill down and send him out of his shop.

Of course, he would appear again later in the film when Yondu came looking for Star-Lord.

The Broker's fear of Ronan was fierce but it may have stemmed from the deeper connection made later: Ronan was working for Thanos. Thanos is also a possibility for Thor: Ragnarok, considering his Infinity Gauntlet is set to appear in the film, giving the Broker even more to fear when he pops up this time around.

The Milano

If the Milano is set to appear in Thor: Ragnarok, it does not necessarily mean the Guardians of the Galaxy will be featured in the film.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Star-Lord's Milano was left on Berhert after a crash landing while escaping the Sovereign. The ship was damaged but not beyond salvage. In fact, Rocket Raccoon was repairing the ship when the Ravagers came and took him, Groot, and Nebula from it.

The events of Vol. 2 took place four years before Avengers: Infinity War. Somewhere in that time, the cosmic squad will find the Milano, considering it was featured in the Avengers: Infinity War footage shown at D23 and San Diego Comic Con.

Ragnarok may offer a Force Awakens type of moment, similar to when Rey and Finn discovered the Millenium Falcon on Unkar Plutt's lot. Thor may very well encounter the ship before the Guardians are lead back to it.

According to Thor: Ragnarok executive producer Brad Winderbaum, the timeline of Thor: Ragnarok will also happen somewhere in that time.

"In the timeline of the MCU, things kind of happen on top of each there, especially now in Phase Three," Winderbaum said. "It kind of happens maybe on top of Civil War, maybe on top of Spider-Man. Somewhere in that ballpark."

Of course, the possibility remains the footage Avengers: Infinity War trailer which included Thor landing on the windshield of the Guardians' ship was actually a clip from Thor: Ragnarok's early act which were described as "puddle-jumping" across various cosmic locations.

"There are elements of Guardians that will kind of work their way into our film, both stylistically and narratively," Winderbaum said. "In the sense that all the Earth-bound heroes feel like they're living and breathing in the same air, certainly now that we're in space, it feels in a very MCU way that we're living and breathing in the same air as the Guardians."

Either way, the Guardians and Thor are guaranteed to cross paths within less than a year as Thor: Ragnarok sets the stage this November for Avengers: Infinity War which releases in May of 2019. Advance tickets for Thor: Ragnarok are now on sale wherever tickets are sold.
