If you are an eager fan impatiently anticipating the Iron Fist television series, then we’ve got your covered with five great Iron Fist comic book stories from across the character’s history that are sure to feed your need until the series debuts.

The Fury of Iron First

This Epic Collection collects Iron Fist’s earliest adventures, includingย Marvel Premiereย #15, Iron Fist’s first appearance and origin story.

The Fury of the Iron Fist also collects the earliest issues of the firstย Iron Fist ongoing series, “The Search for Colleen Wing.” Colleen Wing will be a key cast member inย Marvel’s Iron Fist, so this is the perfect volume to help familiarize new fans with the character.

The volume also features a showdown between Iron Fist and Steel Serpent, the villain referenced all the way back inย Marvel’sย Daredevil Season 1 who may or may not be making an appearance in the Netflix series.

ย

The Return Of K’un Lun

Iron Fist: The Return of K’unย Lun collects several scattered Iron Fist stories from across the 1990s and early 2000s.

The most important story here is the title tale, which sees Iron Fist torn between his life as a vigilante on the streets of New York City and his time as a champion of the mystical city of K’unย Lun.

As a bonus, the volume also includes some other fun stories, including anย Iron Fist/Wolverine team-up miniseries and a modernized (for the time) retelling of Iron Fist’s origin fromย Uncanny Origins.

Iron Fist: The Return of K’unย Lun nicely fills the gap between what is classic Iron Fist and modern Iron Fist.

Immortal Iron Fist

Immortal Iron Fist is the series that brought Iron Fist into the modern Marvel era, and can likely be credited with turning a lot of fans onto the character.

Theย series from Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction, and David Ajaย is a gritty story that sees Danny Rand dealing with the legacy fo the Iron Fist in new ways when Orson Randall, another Iron Fist, shows up in New York City.

Immortal Iron Fist also sees the return of the Steel Serpent, Davos, and a rebellion brewing within the walls of K’un Lun. Add to that a martial arts tournament between all of the mystical cities and you’ve got a truly epic Iron Fist tale.

Immortal Weapons

Iron Fist is just one of several champions who represent the Capital Cities of Heaven, the mystical hidden cities.

Iron Fist represents K’un Lun, but there are five others: Fat Cobra, Prince of Orphans, Tiger’s Beautiful Daughter, Dog Brother, and Bride of Nine Spiders.

These are the Immortal Weapons who fought in the tournament inย Immortal Iron Fist.ย Theย Immortal Weapons miniseries shines a spotlight on each of these champions, expanding the Iron Fist mythology and giving the combatants new depth.

Marvel Television and Netflixย haven’t mentioned the Immortal Weapons appearing inย Marvel’s Iron Fist, but some fans believe there are hints in the show’s trailer. Either way, the Immortal Weapons are cool characters and the series is a worthy read.

Power Man and Iron Fist

The friendship between Luke Cage and Iron Fist is one of the greatest in all of Marvel Comics history and goes back decades. Thisย Power Man and Iron Fist series is a modern take on that friendship from David F. Walker and Sanford Greene.

Power Man and Ironย Fist sees Iron Fist dragging Luke Cage, who had retired to live the life of a husband and father, reluctantly back into the Heroes for Hire game.

Through the series, Luke Cage and Iron Fist take on villains new and old, but the guest appearances by Jessica Jones, Luke’s wife, should help Netflix fans feel right at home.
