The stars of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and Marvel’s Defenders came together for a photo shoot for Emmy Magazine with Marvel Television president Jeph Loeb. Photographer Kremer Johnson shared the group photo on Instagram, as seen below.
From left to right, the photo features Charlie Cox (Marvel’s Daredevil), Finn Jones (Marvel’s Iron Fist), Krysten Ritter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones), Clark Gregg (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD), Jeph Loeb, Chloe Bennet (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD), Mike Colter (Marvel’s Luke Cage).
The Agents of SHIELD and the Defenders have yet to meet each other in person, at least on screen, though Marvel Television’s two separated wings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have referenced each other from time to time. The Netflix shows have made use of the Dogs of War, a biker gang that first appeared in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, and a news reporter on the carnage caused in Hell’s Kitchen during Marvel’s Daredevil was referenced on a screen in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
With the exception of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, the Defenders haven’t actually met yet either. The team of street-level heroes will finally come together in Marvel’s Defenders miniseries, streaming on Netflix on Aug. 16.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD concluded its fourth season in May. The series will return during ABC’s midseason for its fifth season, following the first season of Marvel’s Inhumans airing on ABC in the fall.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns with a vengeance for the fourth exciting season in an all new time period, Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. ET. In the aftermath of their journey to another planet, Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team were driven more than ever to put an end to the Hydra organization. Little did they know that they were up against the deadliest threat they’ve ever faced โ an extremely powerful Inhuman, Hive, who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward. The team was able to thwart and kill Hive and take down Hydra, but they are all still mourning the death of fellow agent and Inhuman, Lincoln Campbell.
