Why didn’t Ghost Rider kill Daisy in the season premiere for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD?

Well, according to Gabriel Luna, who plays Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider on the Marvel TV series, it’s becuase when the Rider saw her, “he saw a penitent woman,” who wanted to make right the wrongs of her life — even those that weren’t fully her fault.
“Given the opportunity, I didn’t kill her,” Luna told Entertainment Weekly. “So she’s intrigued by this creature that she witnessed. Beyond that, we’re all heading in the same direction. We all funnel into this one road. While you can’t call us a team, we’re certainly aligned, but it’s mainly because we’re all seeking the same thing.”
Chloe Bennet, who plays Daisy on the series, told the magazine that it was seeing Robbie’s humanity, and in particular the way he treated his younger brother, that convinced her he wasn’t to blame for the Rider’s rampage.
“They both have certain things in common, so I think they’re going to both be intrigued with one another pretty early on in terms of how they operate,” Bennet says. “They’re both organically loners, and they’re both actually good people at the end of the day. Maybe they haven’t been dealt a great hand, and they’re just trying to get by and do what’s right again.”
The character of Robbie Reyes debuted awhile back in a solo Marvel NOW! Series that fans rallied behind. The character lives a rough life taking care of his disabled brother and only becomes the Ghost Rider once he’s possessed by the spirit of a satanic serial killer.
“[Robbie] had some hardships early in his life, and the Ghost Rider actually becomes an empowering thing,” Luna said before Agents of SHIELD debuted this year. “While it’s still difficult to deal with and very much a curse, he had some f*cked up sh*t going on before Ghost Rider ever came about. His control over it is something that slightly differs from the previous characters and previous vessels of the Ghost Rider spirit.”
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
