At the end of March, it was reported that James McAvoy’s Professor X and Alexandra Shipp’s Storm would appear in Josh Boone’s New Mutants mutants, building upon Fox’s X-Men cinematic universe. Just over a week ago, McAvoy’s role in the film was confirmed by producer Simon Kinberg, but what about Shipp’s?

“I can’t say very much about New Mutants, but it would be awesome to do a little cameo, a little Where’s Waldo?, Where’s Ororo? in the background,” Shipp told IGN. “I love Storm as a character. I’d love to reprise her in many different movies and be able to show people different sides of her because she is so multidimensional and I think that the people who love Storm at least as much as I do, really want to see that. We want to see Storm killin’ it and kickin’ ass. That’s the best thing about her, how amazing and powerful she is.”

Boone’s New Mutants roster is expected to include Magik, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Cannonball, and Sunspot.

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

The cast features James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor, and Ben Hardy.

The film is directed by Bryan Singer, based on a story by Singer, Simon Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. The script was penned by Kinberg.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will land in theaters on May 27, 2016.
