There are few characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a fandom like Bucky Barnes. The character charmed his way into hearts with the first Captain America flick, and his tragic return in the sequel left fans bawling. This year, audiences will get to see the hero make a comeback with the third Avengers film, and its latest teaser just dropped.

So, if you head to Twitter, you will find a lot of people screaming about James Buchanan Barnes. Like, a lot of them.

Not long ago, Marvel Studios released a TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War during Super Bowl LII. The reel, which can be seen here, shows the MCU’s various heroes preparing to defend the Earth from Thanos. Spider-Man is shown stumbling through space while Captain Americareadies to fight alongside Black Panther.

As for Bucky? Well, the hero is seen running from a bush in the Wakanda jungle screaming with a loaded gun in his hands.

Any clip of Bucky would have appeased fans, but the teaser’s inclusion of the character is a rather special one. The hero’s hair is grown out, his arm has been fitted with a sleek new prosthetic, and Bucky looks royally pissed off. He does not sport the deadened look he did when he was under Hydra’s control, and fans are hoping Avengers: Infinity War will pull Bucky from the terrorist organization’s grasp for good.

There is also the fact that Bucky’s beard is on full show in the teaser. Fans are more than happy to see the World War II hero sporting matching facial hair with Steve Rogers. It’s a good look.

The two men are only seen together briefly in the new teaser, but fans are hopeful the estranged bros get their due reunion in Avengers: Infinity War. Last year, Sebastian Stan told Entertainment Weekly that Bucky’s relationship with Steve was a vital one. The pair were described as two guys who “never had a chance,” but this third Avengers film could give the friends some closure. But, if it ends with Captain America kicking the bucket for good right after, then you can expect fans to – well – lose their minds.
