Thanks to Project Casting, fans have learnt the folks behind Avengers: Infinity War are looking to hire a slew of aliens for the film. Central Casting sent out a notice to potential talent that included the following message:
“Aliens: We are now taking submissions to be considered for a fun background role on this upcoming movie. Looking for men and women, all ethnicities, who appear 18 โ 50’s, who are TALL with a SLENDER or athletic build. MUST be comfortable being PAINTED (including on your face & any exposed body parts). Also looking for people willing to have prosthetics applied to their face, in addition to being painted. Bumps will be provided for makeup & prosthetic applications.”
“Filming is tentatively scheduled for April 5 & May 30- must be available for BOTH days with no conflicts. Must have an open & flexible schedule as you will be needed for multiple wardrobe fittings & makeup tests prior to the film dates.”
So far, there’s no word on what alien race is being looked for, but the casting call does give fans a few hints. The notice stresses that extras must be comfortable with body paint and facial prosthetics. These details have led some fans to speculate whether a few familiar extraterrestrials will return for Avengers: Infinity War.
Obviously, fans are starting to question whether the Chitauri may reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The aliens first appeared in The Avengers as they worked under Loki during the Frost Giant’s bid for Earth. The Avengers soundly beat the mindless horde, but the race does still have ties to Thanos. However, the aliens were done through CGI, so extras aren’t necessarily needed for these guys.
However, the Kree and Cotati race do match-up with the casting call and its request. The former blue-skinned aliens made their debut in Guardians of the Galaxy while the Cotati will join the MCU in the franchise’s second installment. The sequel will introduce audiences to the character Mantis who becomes an integral part of the Guardians and the Avengers in the comics.
