With so many television shows and movies now being produced based on comic books, it has become customary to ask an actor whose career is on the rise if there is a superhero or supervillain role they have interest in. And since Bella Thorne’s career continues to gain momentum, the former Disney star was asked that very question and expressed interest in playing an R-rated superhero.

“Honestly, if I could just play a female version of ‘Deadpool,’” the 18-year-old told Moviefone, while promoting her upcoming her new television series, Famous in Love. “– any character that’s a female version of Deadpool — I’m so down!”

As luck would have it, a female version of Deadpool does exist in the Marvel universe. There’s Wanda Wilson, aka Lady Deadpool, who hails from an alternate reality known as Earth-3010.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool comes to Blu-rayโ„ข and DVD on May 10.
