It has been a couple years since Guardians of the Galaxy first hit theaters, and fans of the film are still scouring the movie for easter eggs. After all, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its interconnected teasers and obscure comic book nods. However, fans were sent on a treasure hunting frenzy when director James Gunn confessed there was one major easter egg in Guardians of the Galaxy that no one has discovered yet. And, now, one Youtuber has presented a pretty convincing argument about why he thinks he has discovered the tease.

In a recent video, MasterTainment told fans he had sussed out the answer to Gunn’s goose chase. He asked fans to recall a scene in the film where The Collector is observing his specimens who are all sequestered into glass prisons. In one of the shots, fans were convinced Gunn had hidden a Beta Ray Bill teaser as an alien prisoner could be seen hunched over in his cell with his back turned to moviegoers. Gunn said the man was most certainly not Beta Ray Bill, leaving fans to move along in the their search, but MasterTainment says the man is still important.
In fact, the alien might just be Randau.
Don’t know who that is? Don’t worry; You’re not the only one. MasterTainment said he stumbled upon the character after he went on a search for aliens in the Marvel universe. He found Randau hidden in the pages of Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus #1, but the character first appeared in Incredible Hulk #103. Once known as a king, Randau was Xeronian royalty who was given supernatural powers in order to fight off a fleet of invaders.
Randau entered a solar chamber infused with the energy of his people’s third sun, and the tech gave him insane strength. The guy can literally absorb raw power from the air or even his opponents, but there is a catch; Randau must absorb a basic amount of energy to survive. After beating away Xeron’s invaders, Randau ditched his crown to become a space pirate. Naturally, he fought the Hulk as the being has unlimited power for Randau to tap into, and MasterTainment believes The Collector came across the unique Xeronian along his travels.
The Youtuber hypothesized that Randau may be kept on a very limited power diet to prevent him from escaping The Collector’s fortified grasp. However, when one of his assistants accidentally sets off the Power Gem, MasterTainment believes the alien was able to absorb enough energy to escape during the chaos. And, if fans are lucky, they may get to see Randau make a brief appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. The third film is said to have a gladiator-style battle sequence, so audiences may see the character fighting for his freedom once more under another planet’s master.
