Given the binge-friendly nature of Netflix content, fans will likely blow through all eight episodes of The Defenders when it premieres on Friday and be left craving more adventures from the Marvel superheroes. But they shouldn’t worry as they won’t have to wait long.

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are already filming their second seasons for release in 2018, and now we know when the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen will begin his return to the streaming platform. A new report from MCU Exchange indicates production is set to begin on Daredevil Season Three this October.

No word yet on which cast members will be back or any new additions to the fold, but we should expect familiar faces like Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, and of course Charlie Cox.

Daredevil‘s third season will pick up after the events of The Defenders and Matt Murdock’s confrontation with the resurrected Elektra. The actors involved in the series have all stated that their characters will be drastically changed by the events of the crossover, so we expect Daredevil to continue following the same threads.

All of Matt Murdock’s adventures thus far have seen him dealing with the corruption in Hell’s Kitchen, especially against the Hand. With The Defenders serving as a sort of climax in the Hand’s attempts to control and/or destroy New York City, it will be interesting to see what follows.

Will we see the return of Wilson Fisk AKA the Kingpin? Or a brand new villain that we’ve yet to see on the series? Maybe a mixture of both?

Hopefully we learn more about the third season of Daredevil as we get closer to its production start later this year. Given the increase in output of Marvel’s Netflix series, maybe we can expect to see four shows per year, which would put Daredevil’s release a little over a year from now.

The Defenders hits Netflix on Friday, August 18th.
