The character, played by Jon Bernthal, became an instant obsession among faudiences, as well as others who connected more with his brand of justice than Daredevil’s.

Following the success of his appearance in Daredevil, Marvel and Netflix announced that The Punisher series would officially begin prodcution. Leading into the 2016 New York Comic Con, photos of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle began surfacing online, and confirmed the suspicion that the series is already in the shooting phase. This also confirms the rumor that The Punisher could debut as early as 2017.

The one big question going forward with this series remains, Will The Punisher cross over with Daredevil?

According to a recent set photo, the answer is yes. One of the Daredevil stars has been spotted, in costume, filming alongside Jon Bernthal.

Karen Page, played by Deborah Ann Woll, works side-by-side with Daredevil’s alter ego, Matt Murdock. Karen has been one of the most important characters of the series, and her inclusion in The Punisher means he will definitely cross over into their story.

Despite rumors that The Punisher will contain an origin story for the character, showing his mental breakdown following the murder of his family, this image says otherwise. Karen and Frank never knew each other before he became The Punisher, so the possibility of an origin story is unlikely.

Karen’s appearance in the series doesn’t mean Daredevil will appear, but it does go a long way toward the notion that he might. If his crew are helping The Punisher in some way, it would make sense for Matt to be involved as well.
