Marvel Studios has officially released The Sneepers’ funky and retro song “Guardians Inferno,” which is the only original track on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack and features ’80s and ’90s television icon David Hasselhoff (Knight Rider, Baywatch) spitting out some super-dope lyrics about Rocket, Groot, and Star-Lord. Additionally, director James Gunn sang the chorus.
“Getting down and dirty with a procyon lotor (scientific name for raccoon)/Got no people skills but he’s good with motors,” Hasselhoff smoothly raps. “That weird thing by his side is an infantilized sequoia/When the two of them walk by people say oh boy-yah!/They ask me why I’m bringing a baby into battle/That’s really irresponsible and getting them rattled!/I say ‘Give me a break, get off my back damn it!/I didn’t learn parenting my daddy was a planet.”

He ends the song by dramatically saying, “In these times of hardship, just remember, WE… ARE.. GROOT…”
It’s a fun and quirky tune. But I gotta be honest, I’m a bit disappointed that The Hoff couldn’t come up with some slick rhymes, too, for Gamora, Drax, Yondu, Mantis, or Nebula.
