Writer Rhett Reese today confirmed that Deadpool 2 has completed filming.

“That’s a wrap!” Reese tweeted. “Deadpool 2 is in the can!”

Filming on Deadpool 2 began in Canada in June 2017, primarily taking place in Vancouver, the same location as the filming of the first Deadpool movie.

Production on Deadpool was briefly stalled following the tragic death of Joi “SJ” Harris, the professional road racer who was acting as the stunt double for Domino actress Zazie Beetz. Filming resumed two days later.

Reese and writing partner Paul Wernick, who penned the script for the original Deadpool movie, have returned to script the sequel. Original director Tim Miller has been replaced by John Wick director David Leitch.

Ryan Reynolds will return as lead character Wade Wilson, the titular mercenary Deadpool. Morena Baccarin, T. J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand, and Stefan Kapiฤiฤ‡ will also reprise their roles from the first film. New cast members include Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, and Jack Kesy in an undisclosed villain role rumored to be Black Tom Cassidy.
