In Fox’s Deadpool sequel, Kapicic plays organic steel-bodied X-Men hero Colossus, while Beetz will play X-Men movie franchise newcomer Domino, a partner and ally of Josh Brolin’s Cable. It was Beetz stunt double in film, racer Joi Harris who was killed on set in August, while performing a dangerous motorcycle stunt.
No word yet on what the actual plot details of Deadpool 2 are, but in introducing Cable, Domino, and all the time-travel dynamics that come with the former, the sequel will be opening up the X-Men movie universe in a big way. Afterward, Cable and Deadpool’s story will move into Drew Goddard’s X-Force spinoff.
Deadpool 2 will be in theaters on June 1, 2018.
